Hallo :) My Name is Asmaa. I live in Egypt and I am a native Arabic speaker. I am currently working as an Assistant lecturer at the German Department of the Faculty of Languages Al-Alsun and I teach German to adults since 2011. I studied German Language and Literature at the Faculty of Al-Alsun and graduated with a general estimate “excellent with Honor” in 2010. I attended afterwards two pre-master years from 2011-2013 and earned my Master’s degree in German Literature in 2018. I am also a freelance translator and translate from German into Arabic. I participated in many courses and workshops related to teaching German as a foreign language that qualified me to get a great learning experience and to use new methods and interactive teaching styles, which make the Learning interesting, exciting and fun. I am able to adapt my teaching style according to the Objectives of the lessons and the students’ needs and goals. I am offering courses from level A1 to B1 with the Course Books “Menschen”, which are used by the Goethe Institute. These Courses are based on the levels defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. My goal is to help my students to enhance their language skills and to improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through meaningful activities. I think also all the time about how to keep them motivated and excited about learning and how to encourage them to participate and stimulate them to talk and to express themselves in German, therefore, I use many tools to achieve my goal and to make the lessons more informative, interesting and effective, such as PowerPoint Presentations, interactive online whiteboard, teamwork, online exercises, Videos, Audios, games, images, Songs etc. We speak only German during the lesson, because the best way to learn a language is to study in this language, I only use Arabic if absolutely necessary. I am also keen on ensuring that all students master the given study material and support students who need more help, therefore, I prepare after each module a test to evaluate them and to motivate them to study. The Tests allow me also to identify which areas of the material they do not understand, so I try to find another way to explain them.
